Periodontics and Oral Hygiene

Gum related problems as gingivitis (gum inflammation) and periodontitis (bone loss around a tooth) effects our health. Scientists believe that inflammation caused by periodontal disease may be responsible for the association with heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis and more. The treatment/prevention for gingivitis/periodontitis is removal of tartar from the root surface below the gum and around the gum margin, polishing and instructions in oral hygiene.

Implants

The implant is an artificial root fused to the jawbone. With one or more implant we can replace missing teeth. The implant is placed in the jawbone under local anesthesia. After healing, usually 1-3 months, can a crown or a bridge be attached to the implant(s). If implants can be placed depends on quantity and quality of the jawbone in the endentulos area.
